dia de aprendiendo. [day of learning.]

Ok. Entonces, hoy ha sido un dia bien rado.
Pero tambien, un dia en que ya aprendi mucho.  Y solo son las 4:00.
Realmente, ha sido una de esas semanas.
Y hoy, Hermana Dodge y yo aprendimos por que aprendimos las cosas que hemos aprendido.

Las cosas que aprendi [o que me pego otra vez] hoy:
-Todos de nosotros tenemos mucho para ofrecer a otras personas, y si compartimos muestras experiencias con uno a otro, tenemos mas armas para conquistar a satanas.
-La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias es perfecta. Los miembros no son perfectos. Los que me incluyo.
-Tenemos emociones por un razon. Si Dios no queria que las tengamos, no las tendriamos.
-Todos somos hijos de Dios y todos merecemos respecto. No importa quienes somos, ni que hicimos, ni que otras personas piensan. Cada persona merecen respecto de cada otra persona porque "el valor de las almases grande en la vista de Dios". [Doctrina y Convenios 18:10]
-Nuestras familias y nuestros amigos son importantes.
-La obra de Dios saldra no importa lo que el medio ambiente estamos porque "ninguna mano impia puede detener el progresso de la obra."
-Tenemos un Padre Celestial que nos ama y Su mano esta en todas de nuestras vidas individualmente. Podemos verlo si lo buscamos.

Ok. So today's been a pretty crazy day.
But also one of those days where you just learn a ton. And it's only 4:00.
It's actually been one of those weeks.
And today, Hermana Dodge and I learned why we learned the things we've learned this week. It was like they all led up to what we had thrown at us today.

Things I learned [or was reminded of] today:
-We all have so much to offer and if we share our experiences and insights with each other, we can have more of an armory to fight Satan.
-The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is perfect. It's members, are not. Myself included.
-We have emotions for a reason. If God didn't want us to have them, He wouldn't have given them to us.
-We are all children of God and we all deserve respect. No matter who we are, what we've done, or what preconceived notions we might already have. Everyone deserves love and respect from everyone else because "the worth of souls is great in the sight of God". [Doctrine & Covenants 18:10]
-Our family and friends are important.
-The work of God will go forth no matter what enviornment you're in because "no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing."

-We have a Heavenly Father who loves us and has a hand in each of our individual lives. We can see it if we look for it.

una indunacion masiva de la tierra con el Libro de Mormon.

Se que el Libro de Mormon es la palabra de Dios y es cien por ciento la verdad.
Se que es "mas correcto de todos los libros sobre la tierra".
Se que tiene el poder y habilidad para cambiar las vidas.
Ha cambiado mia.
Se que puede cambiar su vida tambien si esta disponible para actuar en sus promesas.
El primer paso es ver por si mismo.

I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and is 100% true.
I know that it's the "most correct any book on earth".
I know that it has the power and ability to change lives.
It's changed mine.
I know that it can change yours too if you're willing to act on it's promises.
The first step is to see for yourself.

El martes, Hermana Dodge y yo estabamos tratando de encontrar un potencial investigador cuyo nombre habia encontrado en nuestro carpeta de area.
Ella vive en una calle muy transitada super con un solo carril por sentido ir. Su casa se sienta un poco lejos de la calle y el camino es muy largo, pero no habia una manera de dar la vuelta al final, ya que fue bloqueado por una camioneta grande de Comcast. Y cuando salimos del carro, pensamos,

"Pues, esto va a ser divertido para irnos de aqui..."

Caminamos hasta la puerta y tuvimos problemas con abriendola, y mientras estabamos tratando de abrir la puerta, la mujer que estabamos buscando vino a ayudarnos y nos invito a entrar, porque habia bastante calor.
Ella nos dijo que estaba un poco ocupada arreglando algunas cosas con un hombre de Comcast y ella nos dijo que estaria regresar en un ratito. Despues de cinco minutos, volvio a la sala y ella todavia parecia muy agotados, entonces, le pregunte si habia un otro tiempo que podiamos regresar que seria mejor y fijamos una cita por jueves.

Cuando nos ibamos, el hombre de Comcast dijo "Hola!" y nos comento sobre nuestro espanol. Fue realmente amable. Pero tambien muy ocupado.
Mientras caminabamos hasta el fin del camino, hemos contemplado que seria la mejor manera para irnos. Estabamos tratando para invertir el carro, pero simplemente no estaba funcionando. Entonces, nos detuvimos a evaluar, y el hombre de Comcast recoge los dos conos de trafico en frente de su camioneta y camino hacia nosotras. Hermana Dodge y yo nos aparacio bien confundidas, y cuando el paso, él dijo,

"Sera mas facil de esta manera."

Pense que solo iba a poner los conos al final del camino para que nadie mas tendria el mismo problema que teniamos. Pero luego dijo:

"Ok. Pueden ir."

Y en cuanto me di la vuelta, que estaba lanzando los conos de trafico en el centro de la calle y detener el trafico para que pudieramos marcha atras.
Luego se procedio a marcha atras nuestro carro.

Fue lo mejor del mundo.
El hombre de Comcast [cuyo nombre nunca pudimos obtener] fueron bien asombroso.

Recentamente, estaba pensando en como puedo ser mas valiente y simplemente no tener miedo para decirle a la gente lo que significa mucho para mí---es decir, la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias. Y despues de esta experiencia de ver lo maravilloso cosa que alguien hizo algo tan agradable para nosotras, me di cuenta de que esto es como puedo superar mi miedo. Tengo que detener el trafico. Porque lo que creo, que significa mucho para mi, y porque esto puede significar mucho para muchas otras personas tambien. Otras personas que nunca han tenido la oportunidad de escuchar acerca de lo que tengo. Y yo puedo darselo.
Ahora no me malinterpreten, yo no voy a correr delante de un carro en movimiento o saltar arriba y abajo en la acera diciendo a la gente que tengo la verdad. Pero voy a detener el trafico de la vida tipica de la gente que hablo para que ellos puedan dejar de correr como el mundo y tomar el tiempo con las cosas que pueden y realmente los hara felices.
Y realmente, eso es algo que todos podemos hacer. Si usted cree en algo que significa mucho para usted, ayudar a las personas verlo. Ayudarles a salir de la norma de su vida y ver una pictura grande. Ayudar a las ideas del mundo crecen.

comcast man.

On Tuesday, Hermana Dodge and I were trying to find a potential investigator whose name we had found in our area book.
She lives on a super busy street with only one lane going each direction. Her house sits back a little off the road and the driveway is really long, but there was no way to turn around at the end because it was blocked by a large Comcast van. So as we got out of the car, we thought,

"Wow, this is going to be fun to back out of..."

We walked up to the door and we had trouble opening the gate and while we were trying to figure it out, the woman who we were looking for came out to help us and she invited us inside because it was so hot.
She told us she was a little busy with the Comcast man fixing whatever it was that he was fixing and that she'd be back in a minute. After five minutes of waiting, she came back into the room and she just still seemed really frazzled, so we asked her if there was another time we could come back that would be better and we set up an appointment for Thursday.
As we were leaving the Comcast man followed us out and commented us on our Spanish. He was really nice. But also really busy.
As we walked to the end of the long driveway, we contemplated how to best get out. We were trying to back up the car and it just wasn't working out so well so we stopped to reevaluate, and the Comcast man grabbed the two traffic cones in front of his van and started walking towards us. Hermana Dodge and I just looked at him really confused-like and as he walked past he said,

"It'll be easier this way."

I thought he was just going to put the cones at the end of the driveway so no one else would have the same problem that we were having. But then he said,

"There you go. Go ahead."

And as I turned around, he was throwing the traffic cones in the middle of the street and stopping traffic for us so we could back out of the driveway.
Then he proceded to back up our car.

It was the best ever.
And Comcast man [whose name we were never able to get] totally made our day.

So lately, I've been thinking about how I can be more bold and just not have fear to tell people about what means so much to me---namely, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And after this experience of seeing how awesome it was to have someone do something so randomly nice for us I realized that that's how I can overcome my fear. I need to stop traffic. Because what I believe means so much to me and because it can mean that much for so many other people as well. Other people who have never had the opportunity to hear about what I have. And I can give it to them.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not going to run out in front of a moving car or jump up and down on the sidewalk telling people that I have the truth. But I am going to stop the traffic of the daily lives of the people that I talk to so they can stop running at the pace of the world and slow down and take some time with the things that can and will really make them happy.
And really, that's something we all can do. If you believe in something that means a lot to you, help people slow down and see it. Help them get out of the norm of their daily lives and see a bigger picture. Help the world's ideas grow.

Estaba pensando a cerca de esto y que la fe es bien importante in nuestras vidas. Sin la fe, no tenemos mucho esperanza for el futuro. Pero con fe, podemos mirar al futuro con felicidad y gozo.

Y además, amados hermanos míos, quisiera hablaros concerniente a la esperanza. ¿Cómo podéis lograr la fe, a menos que tengáis esperanza?

Y ¿qué es lo que habéis de esperar? He aquí, os digo que debéis teneresperanza, por medio de la expiación de Cristo y el poder de su resurrección, en que seréis resucitados a vida eterna, y esto por causa de vuestra fe en él, de acuerdo con la promesa.

De manera que si un hombre tiene fe, es necesario que tenga esperanza; porque sin fe no puede haber esperanza.

So I was thinking about this and I was reminded that faith is super important in our lives. Without faith, we really don't have much hope for what's to come in the future. But with faith, we can look to the future with happiness and joy.

And again, my beloved brethren, I would speak unto you concerning hope. How is it that ye can attain unto faith, save ye shall have hope?

And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise.

Wherefore, if a man have faith he must needs have hope; for without faith there cannot be any hope.
